Photos: Howard Gage taking his on-track one-on-one coaching session for his Race 101 program in a late model race car at Hickory Motor Speedway on May 26, 2010. went very well with Howard Gage. Howard is used to running on dirt and had never communicated through a radio in the car before and he really liked having that connection to help him learn on the track with Tony. Howard said that he found out that you can't drive into th...e corners as fast on pavement as you do on the dirt!

About:

I am currently a senior at Guilderland Central High School. I am an only child but I enjoy spending time with my extended family. I have several relatives in South Carolina. I love racing and anything to do with it. I enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together. My dad and I build our race car and work on it daily. I am interested in pursuing a career in mechanical engineering but I would love to be able to race full time. We are a racing family and I am fortunate that I am able to spend a lot of time with them. In our spare time my dad and I like to build and work on hot rods. I enjoy spending time with the fans especially the kids. You can learn so much from them. I have enjoyed doing community service in the past by helping out in my church or with local senior citizens. I also enjoy listening to some of the old time racers talk about how things have changed.

Racing Goals:
Right now I need to concentrate on trying to get more seat time. The weather the last two summers has been quite rainy and a lot of races have been cancelled. There is still a lot that I need to learn. This winter my dad and I are hoping to be able to put together another car so that I can race two tracks full time next season. I would like to travel more to get more experience on different tracks. Within the next five years I would love to be able to race a Late Model or be able to run in the Super Dirt Series.
